After enduring the stress of Hurricane Florence with no one to check on their Topsail Island vacation home, Jim and Shanda Maddox experienced a profound need for reliable property oversight. This led them to sell their home and later establish a new residence on the Inner Banks. Their personal struggles and the lack of local home watch services inspired them to start Eastern NC Home Watch, aiming to provide peace of mind to vacation homeowners like themselves.

The Inner Banks of NC boast beautiful communities such as Oriental, the sailing Capitol of NC, and New Bern, home of Tryon Palace.  People from everywhere have discovered these amazing places and fallen in love with our small-town lifestyle.  So much so that many have purchased second homes that they use for vacation and eventually retired here and called it home.

Since we are not on the Coast, many of the homes are more isolated and are not in large subdivisions and do not have the luxury of close neighbors to keep an eye out on their property.  This has given rise to vandalism and even squatters have been found living in homes that are unoccupied.

When we realized that vacation homeowners had so few options in providing oversight services while they were away, we decided that this need was too great to be ignored.

Discovering that there was an organization dedicated to the very work that we wanted to do was the answer to our prayer.  Through the National Home Watch Association, we are properly trained, insured, bonded and certified.  Providing our customers with the peace of mind to know that their investment is being given the attention it requires by someone that they can fully trust.

As residents of the area and having been born and raised in Eastern NC, building relationships with our neighbors and local businesses is of high importance.  It is our desire to continue being of service to others with a reputation for excellence.
